With minimal water: Take with a small sip of water on procedure morning
Iron Supplements
STOP 7 days before: All iron supplements and multivitamins with iron

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I can't finish all the prep solution?
It's important to complete as much of the preparation as possible for optimal results. If you're having difficulty, try: drinking it more slowly, chilling the solution, taking breaks between doses, or calling our office for guidance. We may be able to suggest alternatives or modify your approach.
When should I start having bowel movements?
Most people begin having bowel movements within 1-3 hours after starting the prep. The timing can vary based on your individual digestive system and the type of prep you're using. Don't worry if it takes a few hours to start working.
Can I work during prep day?
We strongly recommend taking the day off work during your prep day. You'll need to stay close to a bathroom and may experience fatigue, cramping, or frequent bowel movements. It's best to stay home, rest, and focus on completing your preparation successfully.
What if I'm still having colored bowel movements?
If your bowel movements are still dark or contain solid particles after completing the prep, call our office immediately. We may need to provide additional preparation instructions or discuss whether to proceed with the procedure as scheduled.
Can I drive myself home after the procedure?
No, you cannot drive for 24 hours after receiving sedation. You must arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for the remainder of the day. This is for your safety and is required by law.
What should I do if I feel nauseous during prep?
Nausea is common during preparation. Try: slowing down the rate of drinking, taking small breaks, sipping clear broth between doses, or sucking on ice chips. If vomiting persists and you can't keep the prep down, contact our office for instructions.
When will I get my results?
Dr. Khan will discuss preliminary findings with you immediately after the procedure. If biopsies are taken, complete results typically take 7-10 business days. We'll call you with any results that require follow-up, and all results will be available through our patient portal.
